Trying Something Different pt 2.

2 days off school was REALLY hard for me. To trust, that kids (mine included) want to succeed when they can (thanks Dr. Ross Greene) is my mantra. So yes, I'm trying something different.


I have to say it worked. Now, I'm not saying missing school is for everyone or for every circumstance. But in this situation we are carefully navigating away from autistic burnout adn have a very supportive school. I felt like it was the right moment to trust my child's insight and desire to do well when conditions are supportive. He needed some recharge. He needed to trust that I will listen to him. He needed to know he CAN take break not be a failure.


Sometimes just knowing where the exit is provided the comfort we need to stay in the room.


He's back at school with a twinkle in his eye again. :)
